   The objectives of Social Science are multifaceted and aim to develop students’ understanding of society and their role within it.

Civic Competence: To prepare students to be informed and active citizens who understand their rights and responsibilities in a democratic society.

Critical Thinking: To enhance students’ ability to analyze and evaluate information, fostering critical thinking skills that enable them to make informed decisions about social issues.

Cultural Awareness: To promote an understanding of diverse cultures, histories, and perspectives, helping students appreciate global interconnections and the complexities of human societies.

Historical Understanding: To provide students with knowledge of historical events and processes, helping them understand how the past shapes the present and influences the future.

Geographic Literacy: To develop an understanding of geographic concepts and the relationship between people and their environments, including the impact of geography on human behavior and societal development.

Economic Understanding: To introduce basic economic principles and systems, enabling students to understand issues related to production, consumption, and distribution of resources.

Social Justice: To encourage students to recognise and address issues of social justice.
