Examination System & Promotion Rules
From the academic year 2008 – 09, we have adopted the Comprehensive Continuous Evaluation (CCE) system in Std. I to IV and from 2010 – 11 in Std. V to X. This is in accordance with the guidelines set by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). This method of testing students will not only minimize stress in students but also project a holistic picture of the learner, with no negative input, this method of testing will indicate the relative position of a student in comparison with his/her peer group. Its objective is to ensure continuous improvement in the student’s performance through constant diagnosis and remedial techniques.

The student’s achievement will be projected NOT by marks, but by grades only.

Promotion Rules:
Promotion of students from one class to another is determined on the basis of Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation. The value given to each assessment and the promotion rules are given in the report card and stated as following: 1. The child should show an average of 33% in each subject and aggregate, for passing. 2. The child should have a minimum of 75% attendance, however, on certain grounds (Visa problem, health ground of the child or the parent, or any other valid reason) the promotion could be considered, if the child produces a letter of evidence. 3. In case of shortage of attendance, the average grade of the other activities will be considered as per the CCE. 4. In case of personal problems (family functions, wedding etc.), leave would be granted only once. 5. Students who miss an examination due to medical reasons must submit a medical certification with two days of the exam missed. If not, the student will be marked zero. 6. There will be no system of ranking the students in their classes based on academic performance. 7. After each examination Progress Reports will be issued. The same must be returned duly signed by the parents within 3 days.
