Out of 230 students 79 got A1s in English, 56 in Maths, 61 in Science and 66 in Social Studies. In the 6th optional subject, 60 received A1s in Malayalam out of 105 students, 35 got A1s in Hindi out of 111 students and 4 received A1s in Arabic out of 12 students.

The parents gave full credit of this exemplary result to the school’s academic ambience and accorded it to the hard work of the students and the dedication of the Principal, the Vice Principals and the ISAS teachers. When asked, the parents of the highest achievers spoke about the unstinted and committed support provided by the President of the School Management Committee, Mr. Ravi Jayanthy, and the members of the SMC in providing the suitable ambience and the infrastructure to the children for optimum learning. The President congratulated the students and the staff members for ensuring such a stupendous success in the public examination.

Inter School “Logi Bizz” Business Devolpment Competition

The students of ISAS (Commerce Stream) participated and brought laurels to school by winning the competition . The school got the ‘Memento for the winning team’. Students got individual prizes too. The participating students were:

Two teachers from the school were the proud recipients of the Navin Asher-Kazi Academic Excellence Awards for teachers for the year 2015, among all the Indian Schools in Oman. Class X Toppers – 2015

Indian School Al Seeb students outshined themselves in the Central Board of Secondary Education, class X examination as the result got declared on 28th May amidst a lot of excitement and anticipation. 222 students appeared in the exam and the school stands on a high pedestal with a 100% pass results, and 36 students achieving the coveted A1 grade in all 5 subjects with a CGPA of 10. Indian School Al Seeb commemorates the return of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said

Indian School Al Seeb teachers shared their joy along with the nation in the celebration of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said’s arrival to Oman. They took part in the momentous event ‘Walkathon’ to mark the occasion on March 30th 2015.
Officials from Ministry of Education, Indian school teachers and students participated in this walkathon. All the participants carried the portrait of His Majesty and the Oman flag, exhibiting their joy in welcoming the ‘Icon of World peace’ back to the Sultanate.
The Walkathon started with great enthusiasm from Grand Mosque at 4.30 pm from the eastern gate of Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque and ended at the start point after passing through the grand mosque street.
The vicinity of the Grand Mosque was filled with excitement and celebration as all citizens, teacher expatriates and school students gathered to participate in the walkathon.
The teachers from Indian School Al Seeb were appreciated for their participation to show their solidarity towards HM and the nation.

Oman Veteran’s Hockey Committee celebrates HM’s return

Oman Veteran’s Hockey committee under the patronage of OHA celebrated the return of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said to the Sultanate. OHA had arranged a hockey match between Oman Veteran’s and Team Coorg at the hockey ground in Sultan Qaboos sports complex, Boushar on April 2nd 2015. The event commenced with the singing of the National Anthem of Oman by the Indian School Al Seeb choir team led by their music teacher Mrs.Lekha Jackson, which was highly appreciated by all the dignitaries who attended the function. It was followed by a formal introduction of the participating team to the chief guest – Mr.Dawood Al Raisi, former Chairman of Oman Hockey association and Mr. Saif Al Rahbi, Vice Chairman of Oman Hockey Association. The match was won by Team Coorg, defeating Oman Veteran’s team by 4 – 3. The entire congregation enjoyed the event. Other dignitaries, who witnessed the match were Mr. Mustafa Malleah Al Lawati, former Secretary General of OHA, Mr. Mohammed Shambi Al Raisi, former FIH member, Mr. Abdul Rehman of Oman Club, Mr. Nagesh Kelkar, Principal, Indian School Al Seeb, Mr. S.A.S Naqvi, former Olympian and coach of Oman Hockey and Mr.Redha Taqi, general secretary of OHA.The Indian School Al Seeb hockey team, led by its coach, Mr. Ganesan also witnessed the match and imbibed the skills of the game. Mementos and prizes were distributed to all the participants. The gathering then raised slogans praising HM and prayed for his good health and long life.

Aiswarya bags double gold in the Oman Athletic Meet

Ms.AiswaryaLakshmi, a student of grade 10, Indian School Al Seeb, won two golds in the Athletic championship for Private Schools organized by the Ministry of Sports, Sultanate of Oman. The participants were from the regions all over Oman and there were 150 athletes who participated in the events.

The event was held at Sultan Qaboos Sports complex, Boushar on March 31st 2015. Aiswarya Lakshmi represented the Muscat region and participated in Long Jump and Relay events. She created a new record in Long Jump by clearing 4.65m. She not only made the school proud but also the Muscat region. She was trained under the able guidance of Mr. Tony Thomas, Physical Education teacher. This is yet another feather in the sports achievements of Indian School Al Seeb.

ISAS Wins MCCC T20 Cricket Tournament

ISAS continued its winning streak in cricket adding yet another feather to its cap by emerging victorious in the MCCC T20 cricket tournament. The tournament was organized by Maxtalent Global Sports, UAE and was held at Al Amerat grounds from 23rd March to 26th March 2015.

ISAS won the inaugural match which was held on 23rd March, 2015 against the main team – MCCC Wadi Kabir by 9 wickets. Batting first, MCCC WK scored 110 losing 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Chasing, Indian School Al Seeb reached the target in just 7.5 overs with a loss of only 1 wicket. Master Mohammed Sameer,ISAS was the top scorer with an unbeaten 66 runs.

The second match was held on 24th March, 2015 against the formidable Indian School Muscat. ISAS batted first and scored 159 for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs while ISM scored 140 for the loss of 9 wickets. Master Mohammed Sameer was the top scorer once again with 57 runs.

The third match, held on 25th March, 2015 saw some records being created. ISAS, batting first, scored a mammoth 281 runs with a loss of just 2 wickets in 20 overs. MIS was bundled out for a paltry 60 runs, losing all their wickets. ISAS won the match with a record margin of 220 runs. This time, Master Mohammed Kaif,ISAS scored an unbeaten 105 runs and was ably supported by Master Saud Qureshi, ISAS who scored an unbeaten 75 runs.

In the finals which was held on 26th March, 2015 ISAS met their arch rivals – ISWK. ISWK batted first and set a challenging target of 168 for ISAS. In reply, ISAS wound up the match in 17.3 overs, scoring 170 runs losing just 3 wickets. Master Mohammed Sameer showed his prowess and flamboyance with the bat by scoring an unbeaten 61 and Master Mohammed Kaif scored 58 runs..

     
 
   

Educational Trip by Indian School Al Seeb students to North India

The students of Indian School Al Seeb went for a 10 day educational trip to North India from 19th December to 29th December, 2014, as a group of 26 children from the middle and senior sections. The Principal, Mr. Nagesh Kelkar, mentioned that it has been a first time endeavor from the school to organize such a trip outside Oman and the students were thrilled to optimize on the opportunity to visit the most famous historical monuments in India like the Taj Mahal, the Qutub Minar, Jama Masjid, Red Fort, India Gate, Rajghat, Rashtrapati Bhavan, Golden Temple, Rangla Punjab Haveli and the famous Jalianwala Bagh. Subsequently, the students also got an opportunity to visit the Wagha Border between India and Pakistan to witness the ceremonial parade of the soldiers of both the sides.
Another rare opportunity to the students was when they visited the Pushpa Gujral Science City to watch the laser show, space theatre, Taramandal Planetorium and other fun science exhibits. This adventurous and fun-filled tour was a personalized experience which aimed at educating the students on the cultural diversity and heritage of India and enriching them with the latest facets of science. The independent journey also inculcated a sense of independence and leadership qualities in them. They were accompanied by two senior and experiences teachers, Mr. Binu Johny, and Mrs. Shashi Tandon. The trip was organized by Incredible Himalayas Tours and Travels in collaboration with Gulf Hills Travels and Tourism, Muscat.

The Handball team of the school qualified for the CBSE National Handball Championship 2014-15. The Championship is being conducted at Happy Days School, Sivapuri, Madhya Pradesh, India from 17th December to 22nd December, 2014.

CBSE Cluster Swimming Competition

Indian School Al Gubra organized the CBSE Cluster Swimming Competition on Thursday, 11th September, 2014. The venue for the event was the swimming pool at the Hotel Holiday Madina, Ghala. Sanskrit Week at Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir

Mr. Dinesh Kamath, All India Organising Secretary of Sanskrit Bharathi, presided over a seminar conducted at Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir on 20 August 2014 as a part of Sanskrit week celebrations. One week long programme witnessed various events like Sanskrit Shloka Chanting, Sanskrit poem writing and Sanskrit computer application competitions. The seminar was conducted on the “Practical application of simple Sanskrit”. Dr. R. Narayanan (H.O.D., ISG), Dr. V.C. Govindaraja(ISD), Mrs. Radha Manikumar(ISG), Mrs. Vineetha(ISG) and Mrs. Bindumole Rajeev Kumar(ISS) presented their papers. In their speeches, they highlighted the importance of Sanskrit and the necessity to study it. They reminded that Sanskrit is the mother of all languages. Dr. Govindraja informed the audience that Sanskrit was the linking language of all the 52 states in India till 13th century A.D. He further said that even though all other languages changed the method of writing at least 3 times, the same has never happened with Sanskrit. Mrs. Radha Manikumar told that Sanskrit supplied diction to many languages. Mrs. Vineetha reiterated the ways to regain the lost status of Sanskrit in our society. Bindumol Rajeev Kumar highlighted the ways to implement effective teaching and learning Sanskrit in schools. Principal, Mr. D. N. Khafeef Youth Icon 2014
Talent Hunters Oman has named Megna Dinto of Indian School Al Seeb, the Runner-Up in the Hindi category of the hugely successful Khafeef Youth Icon 2014, as the winner of the ‘Popular Choice Award’. The talent show was held at the City Amphitheatre Qurum on Friday, 28th March, 2014.
The audience, exercising its prerogative to choose the singer of its choice by SMS, voted overwhelmingly in favour of Megna Dinto during the grand finale. She was among 14 contestants vying for the much coveted Popular Choice Award.
After two rounds of auditions, six Hindi song singers have been selected to compete in the finals from among 80 who auditioned.

Omantel Olympic School Days Athletic Meet

The Ministry of Education organized Omantel Olympic School Days Athletic Meet for International and Private Schools on 22nd April 2014 at Sultan Qaboos stadium, Bausher. Seven regions, from all over Oman, took part in the Meet. Three of our school students represented the Muscat region and won many medals. Aiswarya Lakshmi won 2 Gold medals in Long Jump and Relay respectively, Anagha Pramod won a Silver medal in the 1000m race, and Sheryl Martis won a Gold medal in the Relay event. The Muscat region secured the overall first position.

Examiner Training (ASL-ETs) Workshop
Mrs. Rashmi Kumar has been selected to attend the 5 day training of Speaking and Listening skills as Examiner Trainers (ASL-ETs) after taking the CBSE devised on-line test in November, 2013. This training is a life time opportunity and will help her immensely as a teacher trainer for children as well as an External Examiner to go to other schools and as a resourse person for teachers in future in the enhancement of the speaking and listening skills.

ISAS Wins Accolades in Painting Competition
Pooja Dharmasa, a budding artist and a Class VI student of Indian School Al Seeb secured the 3rd position in the School Level Painting Competition organized by NTPC under the campaign of the Ministry of Power and Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Govt. of India on 7th October, 2013 for schools located in India and abroad. Best paintings by students of Category ‘A’ (Classes IV, V & VI) and Category ‘B’ (Classes VII, VIII & IX) were forwarded to the Bureau of Energy Efficiency. From among thousands of entries sent from various schools in India and abroad, Pooja’s painting was selected for the 3rd position which is a unique honour for the student and the school. It is again an outstanding and rare achievement as she is the only child who has received a prize among all the Indian Schools in the Sultanate of Oman. She won a prize worth Indian rupees equivalent to US$ 200.

This event is being organized to sensitize people about conservation of energy. Using their skills, the children beautifully expressed their thoughts on energy conservation with colourful illustrations and messages exhorting people to save energy, which is no less important than generating energy.

ACC U-19 CHALLENGE CUP 2013
The ACC U-19 CHALLENGE CUP 2013-14 was held from 6th to 16th December, 2013 in Thailand. Master Jathin Varijakson from ISAS was part of the Oman National Criket team that took part in this event. The Oman National Criket team won the second position in this competition.

Teaching Excellence Awards

MKP Idol 2013
Muscat Kathyawadi Pariwar Sangham organized “MKP Idon 2013” music talent show. The grand finale of “MKP Idol 2013” was held on the 8th of November, 2013 at Bahja Hall, Rose Garden, Qurum.

Meghna Dinto, Vishnu Vinod Nair and Riya Pradeep represented our school and made the audience spellbound by their stunning performance. The MKP group had conducted the audition in the month of June in which more than 70 children of various age groups and representing various schools took part. Among them 15 were short listed for the Grand Finale. The Grand Finale round was adjudicated by Shri Suresh Wadkar, the renowned Bollywood playback singer.

Meghna Dinto, with her mesmerizing performance was the winner in group B middle category. Vishnu Vinor Nair and Riya Pradeep reached the Grand Finale and made our school proud.

CBSE National Swimming competition 2013
Master Abhirup Bose participated in CBSE National Swimming Competition which was held on 8th to 11th November 2013, at Rishikul Vidyapeet Sonepet, Haryana, India, in 50 Mts(free style), 100 Mts(free style) and 200 Mts(I M).

11th International Child Art Exhibition Winners

Kshitij, a well organized Art society, with the sole aim of providing a platform, to the established, as well as upcoming artists, to make their presence felt in the field of art, organized the International Level Child Art Competition. The theme of the competition was ‘The Nature’. The children were given a chance to depict their consciousness and their love and concern for “NATURE”.

37 students participated from Indian School Seeb. Ardra Jayakrishnan of class VI E secured a gold medal and Nandini R Mallia of class 1E and Misbah Fathima of class VII F got silver medals for their stupendous creativity in painting. Pooja Dharmasa of class VI G secured a gold medal for making a spectacular greeting card.

Noel Mary Cherian topped the school with an aggregate of 94% with A1 in all subjects, making the school as well as the parents proud of her achievement. The second position was bagged by Srivalli Valiveti with 93.4% and Sam Sunny Thomas stood third with 84.2%.

178 students appeared in the Class X examinations and the school stands on a high ground with a 100% result and 13 receiving cumulative grade point (CGPA) score of 10, which after calculation comes to around 95% marks and above. Sreeju SG of Receives Scholarship from Kerala State Sports Council
Out of many students who tried, Sreeju is the only one from Oman who has been awarded the prestigious scholarship from the State Sports Council of Kerala which is under Sports Authority of India. He has managed a seat to do the degree course after XII in the Mar Ivanios Sports College, Thiruvananthapuram.
